Well, this was a day-brightening surprise! Here Lyeth has officially made the short list as a finalist for the The Word Guild’s Christian Speculative Fiction Award. 🎉
Awards aren’t the reason I write, but I’ll admit—it feels pretty good to know the story resonated enough to earn a place here. Here Lyeth is a coming-of-age story that’s more than just fantasy, it’s about the questions we wrestle with—belonging, grief, hope, and the unseen hand of God that meets us in unexpected ways.
I am thankful to The Word Guild and its team of volunteers who pour their time and energy into keeping this program alive. Their dedication makes it possible for Christian writers across Canada to share their work and be encouraged in the journey—and I’m grateful to be part of that.
So, to all of you who’ve supported, read, shared, and even whispered a prayer over this book—thank you. You’re part of this journey too.
Now the waiting begins for the final announcement on September 20th. But for today, I’ll just let myself smile at the thought: Here Lyeth has found its place among the finalists.
