What a warm …well, hot, summer we’re having here in Southern Ontario! I’ve been sneaking away to the shade of some incredible old trees—my favourite outdoor “office” at our family’s seasonal trailer. It’s one of my favourite places to work on a manuscript, particularly when there is a lovely breeze flowing across the deck. (Helps to keep the mosquitos away).

Lately, I’ve been working on what I call my “deathbed project.” I know, sounds a little ominous—but here’s what I mean: it’s the story I know I’d regret not writing if I ever looked back on my life and did nothing with it. For certain, its kept my mind and heart busy all year.

Wherever you are, I hope you have been able to chill somewhere, to stay cool from the heat, and able to enjoy the season with good health.
